Hiker Rescue | Pacific Palisades
Firefighters conducted a hoist operation in the 15600 block of West Sunset Boulevard on Saturday, October 3, around 11 a.m. for an adult male hiker who was reported to be suffering from a heat-related illness, according to Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
The hiker was expected to be transported to an area hospital.

Upcoming Exhibition | Santa Monica Canyon
Two Santa Monica Canyon artists, Aaron Kramer and Moye Thompson, will be featured in an upcoming exhibition titled “FUN!” at bG Gallery in Santa Monica.

“In dire need for some good old fashioned FUN, bG Gallery and curator Kate Stern have come together to bring us just that,” a press release reports of the exhibition. “FUN features works of art meant to make us feel good, lighten our spirits, evoke joy and playful feelings of glee and whimsy.”
The show will include “a gallery and online art exhibition to include small socially distanced receptions with the artists and curator,” according to a press release.

PPCC Meeting | Pacific Palisades
The Pacific Palisades Community Council will meet virtually on Thursday, October 8, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
On the agenda is a presentation from Jeff Klein, civic engagement manager for the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk office. Klein will speak about the voting process for the November election. He will also answer questions from community members.

Pali Ambassadors Storytime | Pacific Palisades
The Pali Ambassadors—“a diverse, driven group of students committed to creating a better school community and empowered future leaders”—are hosting a storytime program on Thursday, October 8, from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom.
“Children and parents,” a flyer reads, “please join us in a Zoom activity hosted by Pali High students. This is a great way to get your child engaged in reading.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite book to read aloud, and gift cards will be awarded to Palisades Garden Cafe.
