Garcetti Responds to Beach Detail Inquiries | Pacific Palisades
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti provided updates about the future of the Palisades Beach Detail in a brief response letter penned to Assemblymember Richard Bloom.
“Thank you for your letter expressing your support for the Pacific Palisades Community Council’s request that the Palisades Beach Detail not be reassigned elsewhere,” Garcetti wrote in a letter dated November 13. “I recognize the valuable contributions made by the detail, including supporting the Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness.”
In response to ongoing news of the Los Angeles Police Department downsizing special units after a multi-million-dollar budget cut, the Pacific Palisades Community Council and Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness had urged the city to continue funding the community’s beach detail in two letters penned toward the end of October. Bloom had written a letter to Councilmember Mike Bonin and Garcetti in support of the organizations’ efforts to keep the beach detail active.
Garcetti concluded his letter by sharing that his office is “monitoring those conversations closely” and that he “looks forward to an equitable resolution.”
PPTFH Co-Chair Sharon Browning previously said the organizations have been vocal about their message and are just waiting for December, when LAPD’s budget is formulated.
