Hiker Rescue | Topanga State Park
Los Angeles Fire Department ground and air operations responded to a call about an adult male hiker found on or near the Temescal Ridge Trail in Topanga State Park with an apparent ankle fracture on Tuesday, April 13, at 5:44 p.m., according to spokesperson Brian Humphrey.
The hiker was reported to be hoisted aboard a hovering LAFD rescue helicopter and transported in “fair condition” to an area hospital, with in-flight care provided by LAFD paramedics.

Cherry Tomato Plants | Village Green
Palisades Village Green will give away organic cherry tomato plants on Sunday, April 25, beginning at 10 a.m. until they are all handed out.
“These plants were grown from seed by board member Betsy Collins,” Palisades Village Green President Marge Gold shared. “We invite people to stop by and pick up a plant.”
The plants will be available free of charge.

Pacific Palisades Civic League Meeting | Pacific Palisades
The Pacific Palisades Civic League will meet virtually on Monday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m.
“Due to current Stay at Home Order the meeting will be held online,” a representative shared ahead of the meeting. “Please email office.ppcl@gmail.com for Zoom meeting information.”
New business includes three two-story residences on Swarthmore, Almar and Temecula. Old business listed on the agenda includes residences on Via De La Paz, Monument, Fiske and DePauw.

Upcoming Resilient Palisades Events | Pacific Palisades
Local environmental organization Resilient Palisades is gearing up to host several events this week for community members.
On Saturday, April 24, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Refillery LA—a mobile refill station offering eco-friendly soaps, detergents, personal care products and more—will be parked in the Palisades Village area.
“Refillery will be parked on Monument, near Palisades Village stores and restaurants,” according to event organizers.
The Resilient Palisades Plant-Based Solutions Team will host a Vegan Food Truck Event on Sunday, April 25, between 12 and 4 p.m. at 876-898 Swarthmore Ave.
On Monday, April 26, the organization will host a Free Gardener Demo Day in the Palisades Riviera between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on D’Este Drive strip at Capri Drive (north of Sunset at Capri, east of the roundabout).
“[American Green Zone Alliance Founder] Dan Mabe will be displaying various models of commercial-grade, battery-operated gardening equipment for gardeners to test,” event organizers said ahead of the demo. “Dan will also share info on the annual savings of replacing gas equipment with commercial-grade alternatives, provide tips on how to maximize battery life, and give the latest info on trade-in rebates from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.”
Free chips and soda will be provided. Organizers shared that the demo will be expanded to other Palisades neighborhoods, depending on the turnout.
