Palisades Cares and the Palisades-Malibu YMCA present a discussion on eating healthfully, led by Highlands nutritionist Kate Oakland on Thursday, April 4, at 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Aldersgate Retreat Center, 925 Haverford.
A Food for Life instructor for the Physicians’ Committee for Responsible Medicine, Oakland will talk about the benefits of a plant-based diet, via some video clips and discussion, recipes and samples of healthy food.
The PCRM Web site states, “Most healthful diets set aside animal products and also reduce fats in general, while including large amounts of vegetables and fruits.” The information in Oakland’s presentation is intended to jump-start or enhance a healthy eating program.
For information and to RSVP, contact Palisades Cares at (310) 459-1614 or info@palisadescares.org. A $5 donation is requested.
