Business is booming at the YMCA of Palisades-Malibu tree lot.
“It’s going really well, despite the rain,” YMCA Executive Director Jim Kirtley explained to the Palisadian-Post. “We have a lot of beautiful trees of all different sizes.”
This year’s tree lot, which is located at Simon Meadow field at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Canyon Road, offers a selection of Noble, Nordman and Wild Noble trees, ranging from table-top size to 14 feet tall.
“It’s a community staple,” Kirtley said of the tree lot tradition. “It’s a fundraiser for us—one of the ways that allows us to do the programming that we do and help the families that need it.”
Kirtley said that the lot will remain open Monday through Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. until “supplies are gone,” which may be around Dec. 23.
