It must have felt like deja vu for Ilana Oleynik at the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament last week.
Four years ago, she reached the finals of the Girls 18 Doubles division. Last Wednesday, she won her singles and doubles matches for Colorado in the Buffaloes’ loss to Washington in the Pac-12 Women’s Championships.
Oleynik, who captained Palisades High to the City Section championship her senior season, paired with Linda Huang to beat Washington’s Alexis Prokopuic and Angela Li 6-3 at No. 3 doubles, then swept Li 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 6 singles spot.
Paul Revere eighth-grader Iris Berman made the finals of the Girls 14 Singles draw while Pali High’s Jack Harrington and Danilo Milic made the round of 16 in the CIF Doubles division.
Pali High senior Jake Sands, who won the CIF singles division last year, made the quarterfinals of the Men’s Open Division, losing to finalist Philip Bester of Canada.
