Earlier this year, Palisades Charter High School student ambassadors assembled approximately 200 care packages for kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
“Our goal is to bring the community together for a good cause and make a positive impact,” one of the students wrote. “We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can brighten a child’s day, and make them feel loved and cared for. By involving the community in our efforts, we hope to spread the message of compassion and care.”
NLA Collection, a luxury purse line founded by 27-year-old LA native Natalie Amoils, hosted a pop-up shop with A.L.C. in Palisades Village in June, with 10% of event proceeds supporting Maya’s Way.
“Maya’s Way is a foundation where all donations are utilized to help women under age 40 who are suffering with cancer to receive integrative medicine therapies,” according to a statement.
Palisadian La Donna Wertlieb received the 2023 George Award for Outstanding Fully Employed MBA Student from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.
“Each year, the George Awards honor some of the finest members and partners of the Graziadio School community,” according to a press release. “Recipients exemplify integrity, stewardship, courage and compassion while enriching the ever-changing business world through their superior skills and entrepreneurial spirit.”
Dayna Daniele represented Pacific Palisades at the CS Music Competition & Convention, which took place in May in San Francisco, in the Musical Theater category. Daniele first submitted a video of her song performance, which earned her an invite to the competition, which is sponsored by Classical Singer magazine. She then made the first-round cuts, leading to the semi-final round. While she did not make it to the next and final round, Daniele can participate again in 11th and 12th grade.
Palisades Charter High School rising senior Eva Herndon was accepted into the NASA Student Enhancement in Earth and Space Science summer internship program, which will take place at University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Space Research. Herndon was assigned to the “Human Exploration Research Analog” team.
“Students will work with scientists and engineers to conduct authentic research from data received from NASA’s earth observing satellites as well as designing Mars habitats, Lunar Exploration and analysis of images from the International Space Station,” according to a press release.
