Tickets are on sale for the Ballet Conservatory West’s annual production of “The Nutcracker” at Pepperdine’s Smothers Theatre on Saturday, December 14, with two shows at 1 and 6 p.m. Most of the students are residents of the Palisades and Malibu, as well as Topanga, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Mar Vista and Venice.
Palisadian Karen Murphy O’Brien was a member of the Chrysalis Go All In Poker Night Fundraiser committee, which benefits the Southern California-based nonprofit that works to help individuals that are low income or homeless find employment. Elyse Walker, owner of the eponymous store elysewalker as well as towne by elysewalker, was honored alongside Malibu resident Cindy Crawford with Women of Achievement Awards at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Luncheon, which featured a three-part fashion show presented by elysewalker. The luncheon supported Women’s Guild Neurology Project, which supports “innovative research and education for the understanding and treatment of complex neurological disorders,” according to a press release.
Dr. Richard Taw, who specializes in preventative cardiology, spoke at a
recent meeting of the Pacific Palisades Optimist Club.
