
The 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards recognized two Archer School for Girls students with national silver medals: Chloe received a national medal for her photographer “Cascading” and Jacqueline received one for her sculpture “Out of the Rabbit-Hole.”

The Brentwood/Pacific Palisades NLYM Chapter had a successful beach clean-up event on Sunday, February 9, at the Bel Air Bay Club. Twenty-seven young men from the local chapter showed up to learn about the oceans, take part in the clean-up and exchange some ideas about how to preserve the oceans for future generations.

Newcomers and old-timers enjoyed the Palisades Newcomers and Friends’ traditional Spring Social Gathering at a member’s Palisades home.

The Corpus Christi School Academic Decathlon team recently participated in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Junior High Academic Decathlon held at the Walter Pyramid at Cal State Long Beach. Out of approximately 100 teams, the Corpus team came in ninth place overall and seventh place in the Super Quiz. Eight students won individual subject medals: Brooke Freyer – Current Events, Ryan Gilhooly – English, Declan Burke – Fine Arts, Jim Coleman – Literature, Weston Fox – Math, Kai Stevens – Religion, Nolan Freyer – Science, and Patrick Csiszar – Social Studies. Thor Gjerdrum and Leila Landay rounded out the team, which was coached by Librarian Kathy Slattery.
