The Palisades High baseball program held its 11th annual Traditions Dinner on Nov. 3 at the Marina Del Rey Hotel and varsity coach Mike Voelkel welcomed several guest speakers: John Savage, who is entering his 15th year as the head coach at UCLA; Artie Harris, who has served as draft coordinator and area scout for the Los Ageles Dodgers for the last 30 years; and Alex Kocol, first-year head coach at Glendale College.
A silent auction was held and Oscar Cabrera was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Dessert for the evening was donated by Angelo’s Bakery. Last spring, Palisades finished 22-10, won the Western League and was seeded sixth in the City Open Divison playoffs.
