What a difference a year makes. Last winter, Palisades High’s girls basketball team lost to Fairfax by 44 and 40 points in the teams’ two Western League meetings. The Lions went on to win their second consecutive City Open Division title.
Last Friday, the Dolphins exacted a measure of revenge with a 45-point blowout of the reigning City champions—Palisades’ fifth straight win after dropping their first two games of the season.
Two days prior, Palisades began Western League play with a 54-37 win versus visiting LACES. Jane Nwaba led the way with 17 points for the Dolphins.
