The Palisades High girls volleyball team swept host LACES, 25-6, 25-16, 25-16, Monday afternoon to extend its Western League winning streak to 81 matches.
The Dolphins’ last league defeat came on Oct. 18, 2010 in a sweep at archrival Venice under former coach Chris Forrest.
Palisades took command of Monday’s match from the start, led by middle blockers Abbey Kearney and Carly Duffy, hitters Maddie Fowler, Angelina Burton, Megan Tazelaar Caroline Kedeshian, Danica Yeh and Annie Wibblesman, the digging of liberos Georgia Pappas, Annie Eckert and Elizabeth Crawford and the serving of setters Chloe Uhls and Keely McMahon. LACES used an 8-0 run to close within 22-16 in the second set before Eckert served it out.
The Dolphins have lost only one set in six league matches and open the second round of league Monday versus Venice.
