The Western League volleyball title is on the line next Tuesday when Palisades travels to Venice for the second of two league meetings. The Dolphins won the first in four sets, but the Gondoliers got revenge in the quarterfinals of the Chatsworth Tournament last Saturday.
Palisades won two of its three pool play matches Friday, then lost its first match to Long Beach Wilson on Saturday before rebounding to sweep its next three opponents. The Venice loss was only the Dolphins’ fifth in 35 matches this season. They are in pursuit of their ninth league crown in a row under Coach Carlos Gray and have not suffered a loss in league since 2010 when Venice won both head-to-head meetings.
