Sure, the Palisades High girls volleyball team made plenty of mistakes in its season opener last Wednesday against visiting Eagle Rock. Still, the Dolphins did enough things right to earn a 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 sweep.
“That was ugly—if we play like that next week we’ll be in trouble,” warned head coach Carlos Gray, referring to today’s match against El Camino Real. “Luckily, we have time to get better before the playoffs.”

There were a lot of new faces in the lineup but a familiar one—that of reigning City Player of the Year Alex Laita—led the Dolphins with 15 kills while Annie Eckert, who played the first two sets at outside hitter but switched to libero for the third, had two six-point serving runs.
