The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club will hold its Annual Meeting, open to the public, featuring addresses by State Senator Ben Allen, California Assemblymember Richard Bloom, Los Angeles City Councilmember Mike Bonin, LA City Controller Ron Galperin, LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and Congressman Ted Lieu on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club, 901 Haverford Ave.
Eric Bauman, Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party and Chair of the LA County Democratic Party, will also address the audience to give an overview of the 2016 political landscape for this critical election year.
“The 2016 elections, including the presidential election, are of monumental importance, and will be a key focus for the Palisades Dem Club. We’re kicking off the year with our annual big event, bringing almost all of our elected officials to the Palisades so the community can hear them speak,” said PPDC President Melissa Grant.
“As a bonus, we’ll have a top Democratic party leader on hand to rally the Palisades to action in this critical election year,” added PPDC’s VP of Communications Adam Wolman.
This event serves as the club’s official “annual meeting” (though the club holds many events throughout the year and its board meets monthly), at which the 2016 executive board candidate slate and proposed bylaw modifications will be up for ratification by all club members in good standing who are present.
Admission is free; donations requested to help defray costs ($20 suggested). Parking is available in the lot and on the street. Light refreshments will be served.
