Beauty lovers rejoice: A trek to Santa Monica or Malibu will soon no longer be necessary for a trip to the mecca of all things skincare, makeup and beauty. A Sephora Studio is opening in Palisades Village on Sept. 22.
The Pacific Palisades Sephora Studio will be the second of its kind. The first studio, a smaller version of the French chain of cosmetics store, opened in Boston in summer 2017.
Sephora Studio will be Sephora’s newest and smallest store on the West Coast, with an intimate format designed to foster connections between clients and the store’s beauty advisors.
When Sephora introduced the concept of Sephora Studios, the company reported that the stores would be smaller, about 2,000 square feet, less than half the size of a typical 5,500-square-foot Sephora, and would feature digital components and customized makeovers. Instead of checking out at a cashier station, Sephora Studio in Boston has computers off to the side of the store.
Sephora locations carry beauty products from its own private label and nearly 200 brands, ranging from indie to some of the biggest names in the game, including Urban Decay, NARS and Fenty Beauty, a line launched by former Palisades homeowner Rihanna.
Sephora, which opened its first U.S. store in New York in 1998, operates roughly 2,300 stores in 33 countries.
