Four years after solving their first case, Palisadian Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back as Nick and Aubrey Spitz in “Murder Mystery 2,” which will be available for streaming on Netflix starting March 31.
The two are now “full-time detectives struggling to get their private eye agency off the ground,” according to a synopsis, and have been invited to celebrate the wedding of their friend, the Maharaja, on his private island.
“But trouble follows the Spitzes again when the groom is kidnapped for ransom soon after the festivities begin—making each glamorous guest, family member and the bride herself a suspect,” the synopsis continued. “‘Murder Mystery 2’ sends Nick and Audrey Spitz on a high-stakes case that finally gives them everything they’ve ever dreamed of: a shot at their detective agency finally becoming successful … and their long-awaited trip to Paris.”
“She just doesn’t miss,” Sandler shared about working with Aniston during an interview with “Good Morning America.” “She’s funny, we lock in together. We’re married in the movie so that makes it comfortable. We do love each other.”
Aniston shared that the two have been good friends for more than 30 years. In response to a question from the hosts about who would be better in real-life at solving a murder mystery, Sandler said: “We all know it’s Jennifer. I’m fine with that.”
Directed by Jeremy Garelick, the film also stars Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, with Danny Boon and Adeel Akhtar.
With a runtime of one hour and 30 minutes, the film is rated PG-13.
