Sunday was a day Noah Zaret and Drew Singer won’t soon forget. The two Palisadians partnered to capture the Boys 12s doubles title at the 29th annual Braemar Tennis Club Tournament in Tarzana.
The duo dominated its semifinal match over brothers Jordan and Collin Assil of Santa Monica, 6-0, 6-3. In the finals, Zaret and Singer met Charles Bladon and Kane Kelley, who were playing on their home court at Braemar. After dropping the first set, the Palisadians fought back to win the match, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Drew and Noah train at the Palisades Tennis Center. Noah is a 6th-grader at Paul Revere Middle School and is on the tennis team, which starts practice this week. Singer is a 6th-grader at Brentwood School, where he plays for the Eagles’ tennis squad.
Both schools are in the Delphic League, so the boys may have to face each other in singles in league play, but for now they are happy being on the same side of the net.
