Brentwood School’s varsity football team finished the season 8-1 and ranked sixth in the CIF-Southern Section Division 10 final regular season poll and four Palisadians contributed greatly to the Eagles’ success.
Junior backup quarterback Parker Barnes played in eight contests, completing five of eight passes for 52 yards.
Senior Jack Tobey played all nine games at running back and linebacker, rushing 91 times for a team-high 491 yards and six touchdowns, catching six passes for 93 yards and leading the team with 113 tackles (93 solo, 20 assisted), four sacks and a fumble recovery.
Senior running back and defensive back Johnny Bond ran for one touchdown and had 47 tackles (32 solo, 15 assisted) with two sacks, one interception and four pass deflections, also playing all nine games.
Junior wide receiver and defensive end Jack Dyett played in every game as well, finishing second on the team with 30 receptions for 347 yards and three touchdowns. He also made 39 tackles on defense (28 solo, 11 assisted), including a team-best 11 for losses, to go along with four sacks, six pass deflections and one fumble recovery.
One of the Eagles’ victories was a 14-13 triumph over Palisades.
