Sunday’s NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers featured two Palisadians—one on each sideline. Each did his team proud.
Kicker Kai Forbath, 30, who grew up in the Highlands and starred at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks and then UCLA, made two field goals and all four of his extra-point tries for the host Vikings in their 34-17 win. Since winning the starting job in camp, he is off to a fast start this season, going six-for-six on field goals and having made all six of his field goal attempts and six-of-eight PATs.
Conte, 28, a safety, who grew up in the El Medio Bluffs and starred at Loyola High and Cal, had four solo and two assisted tackles for the Buccaneers, giving him 16 solo and four assisted tackles along with a pass deflection in three games.
