The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning is hosting an open house/public hearing to present information on proposed amendments to the Baseline Mansionization and Baseline Hillside Ordinances on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 7-9 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Belmont Village Senior Living Center in Westwood at 10475 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.
The proposed amendments to limit “mansionization” in the City of Los Angeles could reduce the allowable size of new construction homes in some neighborhoods.
“This could greatly impact home values in the Palisades,” said Palisadian architect Richard Blumenberg in a previous interview with the Palisadian-Post.
The Huntington Palisades Property Owners Corporation (HPPOC) sent an email to its residents stating that “HPPOC is generally against The City of Los Angeles dictating such codes in our neighborhood as we have our own Architecture Regulations that we believe best suit our needs.”
