The Palisades Recreation Center’s Girls Minors All-Star basketball team captured the Citywide championship on April 1 after a 21-13 triumph over Queen Anne in the finals in Baldwin Hills.
Coached by Blake Schinto and Brian Hansen, the skilled squad of local 9- and 10-year-olds went undefeated in tournament play to claim the City title for the second year in a row. The roster was made up of Georgia Thomas, Nicole Sacks, Brinley Long, Caroline Schinto, Catie Sterparn, Soy Yoon, Vivienne Kremser, Joey Hansen and Sabrina Ma.
Palisades defeated 109th Street in the semifinals on March 29 after having won the West Region title against Mar Vista one week earlier.
