Palisadian director Gabriele Muccino, known for heart-wrenching films such as “The Pursuit of Happyness,” will again explore complex familial dynamics in this month’s “Fathers and Daughters.” While the drama has been screening in Europe since late last year, it makes its U.S. debut on July 8.

The film’s narrative weaves throughout the lives of a Pulitzer-winning novelist Jake Davis (Russell Crowe) and his daughter, Katie (Amanda Seyfried), as both grapple with emotional scars of a fatal accident that left Davis a widower and threw him into mental despair. The performance-driven piece is stacked with an all-star supporting cast that includes Diane Kruger and Jane Fonda.
The “Fathers and Daughters” crew was rounded out by a number of other Palisadians, including producer Sherryl Clark and director of photography Don Burgess, known for his work on blockbusters like “Forrest Gump,” “Spider-Man” and “Cast Away.”
