Locally founded environmental organization Resilient Palisades announced that a board member will be matching grants of up to $25,000 through the month of August for donations made to its electric leaf-blower campaign.
Resilient Palisades’ Clean Air and Water Team has been helping local gardeners replace their gas leaf-blowers with CORE—clean off-road equipment—approved leaf-blowers that “provide two [to] three times longer battery life and force.”
“Twelve gardeners have already received their electric leaf blower, with all costs covered by a combination of state rebates and donations,” according to an announcement. “Ultimately we anticipate helping as many as 75 local gardeners replace noisy, polluting gas leaf-blowers with quiet, clean, state-of-the-art electric blowers.
“This project will reduce noise pollution and improve air quality and quality of life on every block, in every neighborhood, and impact every Palisadian family.”
