Paul Revere Charter Middle School is gearing up for two of its biggest annual events.
Revere families are invited to celebrate the second annual Literary Festival and 19th Annual Young Authors Evening on Thursday, May 11.
The night will kick off with the Book Fair, which will be open in the library from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Food will be available from 4 to 6 p.m.—complimentary of the PRIDE Booster Club—and the Young Authors Evening student presentations will begin at 6 p.m. in the Quad.
Students will be presenting their pieces featured in Paul Revere’s 19th Annual Literary Anthology.
Revere’s writers and artists were invited to submit original literary pieces and artwork for the anthology, giving them the chance to “share [their] voice, tell [their] story and have the opportunity to be published,” according to the school’s website.
Written entries included short stories, essays and poems. Meanwhile, artists submitted pieces of work that represented the anthology and included the text “Revere Literary Anthology 2023.” The chosen pieces will either be featured on the cover or inside the anthology.
Paul Revere will be hosting its ninth annual Student Film Festival on Friday, May 12. The festival was launched by Palisadian Lisa Robins to offer students a creative outlet, and has since taken off.
Revere students were welcome to submit a film for consideration under its range of film categories, which include animation/claymation, live action short film, music video, documentary, public service announcement and commercial.
The Film Festival is celebrated Hollywood-style, with a red carpet, snacks and a raffle. The red carpet will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by a screening of the films at 7 p.m.
Once all the films have been screened, a winning film will be honored in each category.
“What we look forward to the most is seeing the spirit and creativity of these kids,” organizer Debbie Sachs said to the Palisadian-Post ahead of the event.
No tickets are necessary, the event is open to the community. For more information, visit paulreverems.com.
