The Riviera Tennis Club, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will host the Women’s All-American Tennis Championships, beginning on Monday and running through next Sunday. The event is the fourth-biggest NCAA women’s event and features the nation’s top college players. Admission is free to the public.
A number of UCLA players will participate in the tournament, including Robin Anderson and Kyle McPhillips in the main singles draw, Catherine Harrison in prequalifying singles and Courtney Dolehide in prequalifying doubles.
Last year, University of Florida senior Lauren Embree won by outlasting University of Virginia freshman Julia Elbaba in three sets. Embree became the fourth University of Florida player to win the WAATC and second in three years.
