Students at Seven Arrows Elementary School designed posters and took them to the streets to protest the use of plastic straws. The demonstration followed a ban of plastic straws, cutlery and stirrers in the city of Malibu, which was thanks in part to Palisadian Sheila Morovati and her nonprofit Crayon Collection. An estimated 500 million plastic straws are discarded every day in the United States, a press release from the city of Malibu reported.
