Pacific Coast Highway between Yerba Buena and Las Posas roads in Malibu near Point Mugu State Park will remain closed for the next three to four weeks, Caltrans officials announced Monday, Dec. 15.

Last week’s heavy rains caused between 12 to 15 mud and rock debris slides along PCH near Point Mugu State Park, said Patrick Chandler, a spokesman for Caltrans, in a news release.
The bulk of debris came from the May 2013 Springs Fire burn area, Chandler said in a news release.
Motorists will not be allowed in the shuttered areas of PCH as crews work to re-position K-rails that were knocked out of place by the mudslides, which in is some parts reached depths of 4 to 6 feet.
CHP officers will remain in place as construction efforts take place.
