We want to thank Det. Skaggs with the LAPD and the entire Palisades community, especially the Palisadian-Post. We’ve been in this community for 30 years and the outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. We so deeply appreciate it and we could not have done this alone. I couldn’t have survived this without the love and support of this community.
We also want to thank Councilmember Mike Bonin, his chief of staff John Gregory and the L.A. City Council who have been so sincere in their efforts. While we don’t believe anyone provided tips for the reward money, to have the city support us by offering an additional $50,000 was so generous and so appreciated.

Det. John Skaggs devoted himself to Dave’s case. Det. Skaggs’ sleuthing skills and dedication to his work made today possible. The entire Pregerson family is grateful for Det. Skaggs and for all of the LAPD. The outpouring of tips and leads that came from the community is what helped solved this crime. Det. Skaggs told us that it was the efforts of the Palisadian-Post and the police work by his detectives that solved this case and that means so much to us. This was amazing police work.
We know this isn’t over and it doesn’t bring Dave back, but we are happy to have this part of the devastating time over. We love Dave so much, and we want to stress our deep appreciation for the love we have felt as well.
