The St. Matthew’s Parish School Immigrant Feast (one of the long-standing traditions at St. Matthew’s) was held on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 23. The event is a culminating luncheon celebration for eighth grade students and their families, focused on their investigations of their ethnic and cultural heritages. Students cooked and shared traditional dishes, as well as presented their Family Tree Projects as e-books to their families and the larger school community.
After sharing poetry, music and activities from their ancestors’ native lands, the Immigrant Feast culminated with each student individually paying homage to specific individuals who have contributed to their family’s success.
