The lineup may have been a bit different but the result was the same — another easy win for the Palisades High girls varsity tennis team.
Taking on Marymount on Thursday at Rancho Park, the Dolphins won 14-4 despite several players breaking in new doubles partners.
Coach Bud Kling‘s player of the match was Morgan Swan for sweeping her three sets at No. 3 singles, including a 7-5 triumph over the Sailors’ top player Grace Olyphant, who had defeated Palisades’ No. 1 and No. 2 players Caroline Goldberg and Abby Schleichkorn by 6-2 scores. Goldberg and Schleichkorn both won their other two sets.
In doubles, Caroline Vincent and Calypso Peraticos won their first two sets at the No. 1 spot before being subbed out for the third rotation, Madeline Prins paired with Ireland Amato to sweep 6-2, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 position and Lizzie Belokonnyi partnered with Sophia Amato to take two sets at No. 3 before being subbed out for the third round in the round robin scoring format.
Palisades traveled to Manhattan Beach for its annual intersectional showdown with Mira Costa on Tuesday and opens Western League play next Tuesday against LACES at the Palisades Tennis Center.
