Porta Via has been sharing its food with community members ahead of its Sept. 22 opening in Palisades Village. The latest stop in the Taste of Porta Via tour was Los Angeles Fire Department Station 69, where over a dozen firefighters were treated to dinner with owner Peter Garland.
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, Garland brought samples of Porta Via’s chopped beet salad, blackened salmon, rigatoni Bolognese, grilled vegetables and marinated skirt steak.
Garland received an LAFD Station 69 sweatshirt from Captain Tommy Kitahata.
The next Taste of Porta Via is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 23, at a private home in the Palisades. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Palisades Charter High School Quarterback Club.
Members of the Pali High football team will be on hand at the event to serve dinner, and guest speakers include two members of the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame: Cade McNown and John “JK” McKay.
