Theatre Palisades has revealed its 2024 season, which will feature five shows at Pierson Playhouse on Temescal Canyon Road.
“We are thrilled to announce our upcoming season,” organizers said in a statement.
The season includes “Beau Jest” by James Sherman, “A View from the Bridge” by Arthur Miller,” “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” by John Bishop, “The Rocky Horror Show” with book, music and lyrics by Richard O’Brien, and “Private Eyes” by Steven Dietz.
The 2023 season is underway, with “The Andrews Brothers”—billed as a “madcap musical salute to the swinging ’40s”—set to run September 1 to October 8, followed by “Towards Zero,” which will run November 3 to December 10.
The theatre also put out a call for actors for “Towards Zero,” with auditions slated to take place on September 18 and 19 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Callbacks will take place September 20 at 7 p.m. A full list of roles being auditioned is available at the Theatre Palisades website.
“This play by Agatha Christie and Gerald Verner opened in London in 1956,” according to the website. “When a house party gathers at Gull’s Point—the seaside home of Lady Tressilian—Nevile Strange finds himself caught between his old wife Audrey and his new flame Kay. A nail-biting thriller, the play probes the psychology of jealousy in the shadow of a savage and brutal murder. A carefully unpeeled investigation before our eyes brings the story to a pointed ending.”
Theatre Palisades—which is celebrating its 60th anniversary—will host its annual meeting, dinner and awards show on Sunday, August 13, beginning at 6 p.m.
Festivities include cocktails and voting from 6 to 7 p.m., a buffet dinner on Founders Island at 7 p.m., and the annual meeting inside Pierson Playhouse at 8 p.m., with the awards show beginning at 8:15 p.m.
The five shows up for awards during the ceremony are “Nunsense: The Musical,” “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club,” “Other Desert Cities,” “Run For Your Wife” and “Bell, Book & Candle.”
The evening will also include musical numbers from Theatre Palisades Youth’s recently closed “Anastasia the Musical: Youth Edition,” as well as one from Theatre Palisades’ upcoming musical “The Andrews Brothers.”
There will also be previews of short scenes from the 2024 Theatre Palisades season.
Tickets are available for the annual meeting, dinner and awards show for $25 at theatrepalisades.org.
