The Theatre Palisades Youth spring musical, “Disney’s High School Musical, JR,” opens tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. at Pierson Playhouse, 941 Temescal Canyon Dr. Based on the Disney Channel’s 2006 smash hit musical, 18 local youth will portray jocks, brainiacs, thespians and skater dudes as they navigate their way through a new school year. They all come together on stage and on the court as the Wildcats win the championship game and Troy and Gabriella emerge as singing sensations. Members of the cast include Natalie Turgeman, Trey White, Daniela Renzo, Jake Lyon, Nicole Harlan, Brendan Welch, Rafe Israel, Jenna Handler, Megan Lewis, Vera Abrams, Lauren Bernstein, Jessica Miner, Liana Rostamian, Chelsea Trotti, Caroline Weller, Mia Ruhman, Elle Baker, Casey Neumann and Joel Rosenthal. Director Dorothy Dillingham Blue has directed and choreographed many Theatre Palisades youth productions, including ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘How to Eat Like a Child.’ Performances are Friday, March 1 and 8 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 2 and 9 at 5 p.m.; and Sunday, March 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 each.
