Palisadian-Post asked people in Marquez Knolls, The Highlands and The Village about the most frustrating routes driving through Pacific Palisades.
Heidi Cunningham
I’d say it’s Chautauqua. That used to be my “go-to,” but I usually use Temescal [Canyon Road] now. It’s just extremely congested and people don’t follow the rules of the road.
Maria Docter
I lived on Marquez [Street] for 10 years before I moved to Santa Monica. I’d say traffic is the worst in The Village—on Sunset in particular. It seems worse now than it used to be. I think it’s because there’s no left-turn signals.
Will Durghalli
If I’m leaving the big parking lot between the bank and Garden Café, I would rather make a right on La Cruz than go left and take Sunset. That stretch of Sunset [between La Cruz and Swarthmore]—I hate that area.
Robert Tilden
I’d say the major cross-sections in The Village—like the one outside of CVS. That area gets the most overflow and clog, people blocking intersections. People just make silly moves that affect literally everyone.
Bruce Beddoe
Sunset is my nemesis—people swinging U-turns and crashing into other cars. They’re looking for parking, so they’re looking at the spot and they’re not paying attention to cars around them. That’s responsible for a lot of accidents.
