As July gave way to August, the Palisadian-Post talked to people in The Village about how their summer has gone so far, and whether they still have plans for some end-of-season fun.
Jake Poppen
I’ve traveled a ton for work but I did go on one vacation, to Hawaii. We went to Oahu just for vacation—surfed, ate some great food. I went with my girlfriend, it was our first trip together.
Jamie Shuster
I just got back from south Oregon. We stopped at Mt. Shasta, went up to Crater Lake, then Mt. Bachelor, to Bend, [Oregon] and then down the coast. It was gorgeous. I went with my wife Victoria.
Jorris Christie
I don’t live here officially, I kind of did a “seasonal tryout” thing. I work in D.C. I love the weather of course, I love the mountains—it’s the most European part of all of America. Now I’m just trying to find that healthy medium, so … I’ve decided now officially to be “bi-coastal.”
Steve Henry
We’re going to Africa. We’re visiting three countries … and we’re also going to visit a little piece of the Congo where we’re involved with a school through our foundation—we’re helping to build it. It’s the Dillon Henry Foundation. My wife [Harriet Zaretsky] has really been the driver on the school, to develop it over there.
