One puts goals on the scoreboard, the other keeps goals off the scoreboard and together brothers Thomas and Jack Wynperle are steady contributors to the success of the boys lacrosse program at Loyola High.
Jack, a senior defender wears No. 7 and Thomas, a sophomore attacker, dons No. 17 for the Cubs, who began the week 12-4 overall and unbeaten in Mission League action. The Wynperles live in the Marquez area and Jack was a long stick middie last year with fellow Palisadian Preston Barnes (now at the University of Alabama). He played football, basketball and golf at St. Matthew’s and linebacker and quarterback on Loyola’s freshman football team in 2018. Thomas pitched in the PPBA and helped St. Matthew’s win the Pacific Basin League basketball title in 2019.
