Shell
I think the market at the Shell station should be considered merely a replacement of the market at the Mobil station that managed to survive (and was truly convenient) for many years. It seems patently unfair to deny the same owner the right to open the same kind of market a block away on the same thoroughfare. He reportedly sold the Mobil property to make way for Caruso, with the understanding he could reopen at the Shell.
Soup Response
For the person seeking the best soup in Pacific Palisades, the soups at Matthew’s Garden Café are my absolute favorites. I highly recommend any of them. They are delicious every time. I’m curious what soups other Palisadians recommend. I’m willing to broaden my horizons!
Masks
Masks are in place again. Everybody please oblige and let’s do everything in our power to protect ourselves and each other.
Masks II
It is disappointing to see masks discarded on the streets and sidewalks around town, especially when there are trash receptacles placed often enough so this shouldn’t be an issue. Please take a moment to properly through away single-use masks. It’s not sanitary.
Topanga
The fire on Monday in Topanga was scary when I saw the smoke plume. Glad they were able to get it under control, and quickly.
School
Does anybody know if COVID being prevalent again is going to affect schools returning to in-person? I have a looming fear that this might affect those plans, but I surely hope not.
ROCA
Roca Pizza looks good. I’m looking forward to trying it when it opens at Palisades Village. Too bad it sounds like I will be waiting a while!
Pearl Dragon
Loved the feature on Pearl Dragon. I love their food, so it was interesting to read the backstory on how the restaurant came to be. Keep up the good work, Pearl.
