Potrero Update
The entrance gates are now latching properly, but other problems have arisen — flooding, run-off, erosion, fissures in trails, sinkholes and at least one large landslide — which resulted in the park being closed again this past weekend due to the rain. City officials have advised that they are assessing the situation; hopefully the dangerous conditions can be corrected soon so that the park can reopen and will be safe for visitors.
Homework Heroes
KINDNESS counts! Huge shout out to the kind Ronny’s patron! For years I have rewarded my wonderful 3rd grade HOMEWORK HEROES with a trip to Ronny’s for a well-deserved ice cream for returning their homework everyday for an entire semester. Thurs, January 12th seven incredibly responsible 3rd graders celebrated Fall 2022! A Ronny’s account owner overheard our conversation and generously offered to pick up our tab! The gesture felt extra special knowing it was my very last Homework Heroes trip to Ronny’s as Tues. Jan. 18th was my last day of school as I am retiring after 36 years of teaching at Marquez. Marquez students and families really are the best!!
Happy Hour
Palisades Garden Cafe now offers a happy hour Monday-Friday 5:30-7 and Saturday 4:30-6.
‘Carusoville’
Here’s hoping that this fifth anniversary year of Palisades Village mall brings a change to useful tenants that locals have a need to frequent. So far that hasn’t been the case.
The Little Market
Ugh I have not cared much when most of the businesses at Palisades Village have closed and been replaced, but I am truly sad to see The Little Market go. This was such a great shop to stop by for gifts. Grateful we have others in town that I can continue to support, but this one was sad!
