‘Shenanigans on Sunset!’
Have you noticed all of the different “creative” settings that have been used over the years at the Traffic Lights on Sunset at both Will Rogers and Amalfi? Many unusual variations have been tried: from a hair-trigger sensor to what we have currently. The way it is now the light will always be Red if you approach on Sunset unless somebody else has gotten there just before you. If you approach from Will Rogers or Amalfi it will almost always be Green. Clearly Sunset is the major artery here and the settings would normally give it preference. What it does now is what I would describe as unfair. People don’t respect unfair lights. I have seen more people ignore those two traffic lights than any other place in the world. My suggestion would be to have the light cycle in conjunction with neighboring lights. Then people traveling close to the speed limit would be rewarded by hitting both Green Lights and speeders would get at least one Red.
Potrero
I finally got to visit the newly revised Potrero Canyon. Wow!! It is a jewel in the crown that is Pacific Palisades. I can’t wait to go back.
‘Mindful Mondays’
What a creative idea for a program at the library! I hope that I am able to make it out one of these weeks and see what it’s all about.
‘Homework Heroes’
I loved reading about the Homework Heroes experience at Ronny’s with their third-grade teacher! It just goes to show what a wonderful community we live in, where stuff like this happens behind the scenes all the time.
Palisades Village
To the person who mentioned it is Palisades Village’s fifth anniversary year in 2023: I could not believe that your math was correct but the years do add up. I cannot believe it has been that long since it opened.
