Town Papers
We are so lucky in our town to have such an absolutely amazing town paper. “Town papers” are becoming an endangered species, and we are privileged to have one of the very, very best there is. Full of positive, well-written stories. Full of heart. Thank you, Pali Post. You are such an important ingredient in the soup that makes the Palisades a real town. You bless our lives!
‘Kudos to Palisades Patrol’
Having recently had vandals break into my house in the Alphabet Streets, I had occasion to meet Alex and his crew who responded to my burglar alarm. Alex subsequently called on me to make sure I was okay, and a few days later another member did the same. I commend the organization and those two angels in particular for their efficiency and thoughtfulness. As a “mature” single woman, I am happy knowing that I’m in Palisades Patrol’s sights!
Rom-Com
After reading “It’s Time to Alter the Romanticized View of the Rom-Com”, it’s clear why Pew found that 60% of today’s males are single, because romance is clearly dead. Perhaps the solution is to submit applications with the intent of dating to replace the risk of time-tested wooing?
‘The Reluctant Traveler’
I have started Eugene Levy’s new series “The Reluctant Traveler” and it is quite amusing and inspiring. I find myself looking up the places he is visiting, hoping to take a trip there of my own. I am so grateful we have such a funny honorary mayor!!!
Driving
I have noticed something more and more often when I am driving in the Palisades: Other drivers don’t give a courtesy ‘thank you’ wave when I let them into the lane or pause so they can turn etc. It’s a small gesture and takes minimal effort to show appreciation for those around us. We can take the two seconds to give a thank you.
New Role
It was fun to read about Palisadian Bill Hamm working as interpreter at Will Rogers State Historic Park. I have been part of the community for over six years and haven’t taken a tour. Maybe it’s time.
